Eat, Stay, Love ("we", "us", "our") operates the Eat, Stay, Love mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the App.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information. When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, date of birth, home country, and profile photos you upload.

Profile Information. You may optionally provide interests, languages spoken, Instagram or TikTok handles, and a bio.

Location Data. With your permission, we access your device location to show nearby travelers and events on the map. We do not track your location in the background.

Usage Data. We collect information about how you interact with the App, including pages viewed, features used, and crash reports.

Messages. Messages you send through the App are stored on our servers to deliver the chat experience.

Photos. Photos you upload for your profile or dinner events are stored securely in cloud storage.

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide, maintain, and improve the App
To show you relevant travelers, dinner events, and groups nearby
To facilitate communication between users
To send you notifications about events, messages, and updates
To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or security issues

3. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We may share your information with:

Other users — your profile, photos, and public activity are visible to other App users
Service providers — we use third-party services for hosting (Supabase, Vercel), maps (Mapbox), analytics, and push notifications
Legal requirements — if required by law or to protect the safety of our users

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on servers operated by Supabase (hosted on AWS). We use encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

5. Your Rights

You may:

Access, update, or delete your profile information at any time in the App
Request a copy of your data by contacting us
Request deletion of your account and all associated data
Opt out of push notifications through your device settings

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18.

8. Third-Party Services

The App may contain links to third-party services (Instagram, TikTok, Google Maps, Booking.com). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these services.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the App or by email.
