Eat, Slay, Love ("we", "us", "our") operates the Eat, Slay, Love mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the App.
Account Information. When you sign up, we collect your name, email address or phone number (depending on how you sign in), date of birth, home country, and profile photos you upload.
Profile Information. You may optionally provide interests, languages spoken, gender, Instagram or TikTok handles, and a bio.
Location Data. With your permission, we access your device location to show nearby travelers and events on the map. We do not track your location in the background.
Usage Data. We collect information about how you interact with the App, including pages viewed, features used, and crash reports.
Messages. Messages you send through the App are stored on our servers to deliver the chat experience.
Photos. Photos you upload for your profile, dinner events, or groups are stored in cloud storage (Supabase Storage). They are served from public links so the App can display them to other users; anyone who has a photo's link can view it. Uploaded photos are automatically screened for prohibited content by Google Cloud Vision before they are shown.
AI Inputs. When you use AI features — trip planning, itinerary generation, chatting with an AI travel companion, or the group icebreaker bot — the messages, prompts, and profile details you provide (such as your interests, home country, and current city) are sent to our AI providers to generate a response. See Section 3A.
Payment Information. If you subscribe to a paid plan, subscription billing is handled by Apple through the App Store via RevenueCat (our payment infrastructure provider). We do not collect or store your payment card details.
Device Identifiers. We collect an anonymous device and install identifier to support crash reporting and analytics.
Sensitive Information. We do not ask for, and do not need, information about your health, disability, religion, sexual orientation, ethnicity, or similar sensitive matters, and we ask that you do not include it in your profile. If you choose to mention something like an accessibility or dietary need in a trip request or a chat, we use it only to tailor that trip or conversation; it is sent to our AI providers like any other message (see Section 3A). We do not use it for advertising and we do not try to infer sensitive characteristics about you. You can remove it at any time by editing or deleting the trip, the message, or your account.
We do not sell your personal data. We may share your information with:
The App uses AI to generate travel itineraries and recommendations, to power AI travel-companion profiles you can chat with, and to run an icebreaker bot in group chats. AI profiles are marked with an "AI Traveler" label in chat and will tell you they are an AI if you ask.
What is sent. Your messages to an AI companion, your trip-planning requests and edits, recent group-chat messages (when the group bot replies), and the profile details needed for context (interests, languages, home country, current city, bio) are sent to our AI providers. We do not send your email address, date of birth, precise location, or payment information to AI providers.
Providers. We use Anthropic (Claude models) and OpenRouter to generate responses, and Langfuse to log AI requests and responses so we can debug and improve quality. These providers process data on our behalf under their business terms; we do not sell your inputs and we do not use them to build advertising profiles.
Retention. Messages exchanged with an AI companion are stored with your other messages and are deleted with your account. AI request logs are kept for debugging and quality review; they are keyed by your account ID, which no longer identifies you once your account is deleted.
Limits. AI-generated content can be wrong. Verify prices, opening hours, and bookings before you rely on them. AI companions are not a substitute for professional advice, and if you tell one you are in danger it will point you to emergency and crisis resources rather than continue the conversation as normal.
Your data is stored on servers operated by Supabase (hosted on AWS). We use encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
You may:
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law. Messages you sent remain visible to their recipients after you delete your account — we retain your sender identity so the conversations you were part of stay coherent for the people you messaged.
The App is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. Users must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
The App may contain links to third-party services (Instagram, TikTok, Google Maps, Booking.com). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these services.
